Bio
Paula Valentini (Argentina) is an architect graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism of the Universidad de Buenos Aires (FADU,UBA). She has postgraduate studies in the Architecture and Technology Programme at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. She graduated from the National School of Fine Arts (ENBAPP).
She worked as Assistant Professor in History of Architecture I and III, and in the area of Design, in Architecture II and III at FADU, UBA.
She lived and worked in Rio de Janeiro for two years, where she participated in projects of various scales of urban intervention. She alternated her practice between her own and collective ventures in cultural institutions and public and private spaces, locally and internationally.
In 2016 she developed a series of pieces for the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires. This project R24 allowed her to cross experiences from various domains of her practice. R24 was finalist in the Product Design category at the Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño in 2018 (exhibited at Matadero Madrid). Then it became a small collection for GANDIABLASCO presented at the Salone del Mobile Milano 2023.
Weightlessness, suspension and the ethereal in opposition to the resistance of matter are axes that organise her research within the framework of the relationships between art, design, architecture, the urban and nature.
